I swear they must have taken it to the park and fed the ducks, because the 5 boxes rule arrived in August and I have limited it to 5 boxes ever since. ( I swear I think David complained the most!) I still go through about 6 to 8 gallons of milk a week, but that is down from 10, so I guess I am lucky.
I quit the coffee stand buying at the beginning of the summer (I stopped drinking coffee altogether and stuck to home brewed green tea) I now use Starbucks or coffee stands as a "treat" and only go once a month or so. It is amazing how much cash I keep in my wallet.
Love M2MAMMAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03785301449769223668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2516605858253722612.post-23847962677712654542008-10-10T10:17:00.000-07:002008-10-10T10:17:00.000-07:00This is a very good and timely post. Good advice about not trying to live outside your means... we had to move to the freaking Middle East to get ourselves out of debt and get back on our feet. I can't imagine where we'd be if we'd passed up this opportunity in the current economic crisis.

Anyway, I agree with you about the thrift stores! I love you!Sydneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00049154951668317442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2516605858253722612.post-21830417114809809002008-10-10T06:57:00.000-07:002008-10-10T06:57:00.000-07:00You're awesome! I was organizing it late in June and realized we had 18 cans of Spaghettios. Yes you read right 18. That's when I decided I wasn't buying another thing until it was all gone. I wrote down everything in the cabinet, sorted it by expiration date and used it. I typed my list up and taped it to the inside of the door, as I used something I changed the quantity and when I shopped I checked that list first before buying anything. I am now down to 6 cans of Spaghettios.

Then only canned things I've purchased since late June is cream of mushroom/chicken soups and a few cans of crushed pineapple. Huge savings at the grocery store. I've also started baking something on Sunday's so the kids have a homemade treat in lunches all week and not buying packaged cookies/snacks.

I love Harrison's comment that your are 'dirt poor', he sounds like Chase.

Love you guys.
ShellyShelly Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14398221876041824110noreply@blogger.com
