Sunny Day!
Yesterday was the perfect sunny day in the Pacific Northwest! 72 degrees, sunny all day, and WARM (to us, anyway!). Jeff and I loaded up the bikes and headed first to Starbucks (to fuel up for the ride - haha), then to Home Depot (to look for a rain barrel, but alas, they were ugly). Then we rode on the trail for an hour (and about ten miles) enjoying the scenery (I brought my camera, but the battery was dead - augh - I got in trouble for that since Jeff got me a back-up battery for Christmas and it was nowhere near my camera!). After that we headed to Molbak's (a nursery) to look for another rain barrel (alas, even uglier!) and then to Costco for a "few things" which always ends up being more than a few - and more than a few dollars!! Came home, put away the Costco, fixed up a plate of fruit and sat outside enjoying some fresh fruit, iced tea (me), cold beer (Jeff), and soaking up the sun! Then, Jeff made the most delicious dinner - cedar planked salmon on the BBQ, quinoa and fresh asparagus (Jeff) and green beans (me). Later we enjoyed double chocolate mousse (courtesy of my wonderful neighbor Carla!) and even later, fresh, hot chocolate chip cookies straight from the oven. We ended the night watching a movie. All in all, a perfect day! Everyone else may be in Hawaii or Disneyland for spring break, but this was a great "staycation" for me!
